LO
Insignia Low Ambient Temperature Lockout

Dehumidifier displays LO and does not start dehumidifying

Advertisements

Possible Causes

Room temperature below minimum operating range, Faulty ambient temperature sensor reading too low, Unit placed near cold draft or window

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Note: LO is usually an informational code indicating the room is too cold for safe operation.

Steps:

  • Check room temperature: Use a separate thermometer to verify the room is above the minimum operating temperature (typically 41–45°F / 5–7°C).
  • Relocate unit: Move the dehumidifier to a warmer area away from exterior doors, windows, or unheated basements.
  • Sensor check: If the room is warm but LO still shows, inspect the ambient temperature sensor and its wiring as described for E1. Replace if faulty.

Warning: Running a dehumidifier in very cold conditions can cause coil icing and damage; do not bypass LO protection.
