Possible Causes
Loose or improperly sized drain hose, Missing or damaged rubber gasket at hose connection, Drain hose routed uphill causing backflow
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and turn off any nearby electrical devices before handling spilled water.
Steps:
- Check hose fit: Ensure you are using the correct diameter hose recommended by Insignia. Push the hose fully onto the drain outlet.
- Gasket inspection: Remove the hose and inspect the outlet for a rubber gasket or O-ring. Replace if cracked or missing.
- Secure connection: Use a small hose clamp to secure the hose to the outlet if the design allows.
- Proper routing: Route the hose downward with no upward loops. The end of the hose must be lower than the drain outlet to allow gravity drainage.
- Test for leaks: Pour a small amount of water into the bucket area and observe the hose connection for drips.
Note: If you stop using the drain hose, remove it and reinstall the bucket properly to prevent leaks.
