Water Leakage / Drainage Fault
Dehumidifier leaks water onto the floor instead of into the tank or drain hose
Advertisements
Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned water tank, Cracked drain pan, Improperly installed continuous drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to avoid slipping or electrical hazards.
- Check tank seating: Remove and reinstall the water tank, ensuring it is fully inserted and level.
- Inspect drain hose: If using continuous drain, confirm the hose is firmly attached, not kinked, and slopes downward. Avoid submerging the hose end in standing water.
- Clean drain channel: Remove the tank and locate the small drain outlet above it. Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris. Flush with warm water if possible.
- Inspect drain pan: With the cover removed, visually inspect the plastic drain pan under the evaporator for cracks. Replace the drain pan assembly if damaged.
- Level the unit: Ensure the dehumidifier is on a flat, level surface so water flows correctly into the tank or hose.
