Possible Causes

Failed digital humidity sensor module, Disconnected humidity sensor harness, Contaminated sensor (dust, moisture), Defective main PCB humidity input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the control panel or front grille.

  • Locate humidity sensor: On many Inventor dehumidifiers, the humidity sensor is mounted behind the front grille near the air intake or integrated into the control panel area. It is usually a small plastic module with a 3–5 wire connector.
  • Visual inspection: Check for obvious damage, corrosion, or broken wires. Ensure the connector is fully seated on the PCB.
  • Clean the sensor area: If the sensor is covered in dust or lint, gently clean around it with a soft brush or compressed air. Do not soak it with liquid cleaners.
  • Check harness continuity (advanced): Use a multimeter to verify continuity of the harness from the sensor to the PCB if accessible.
  • Replace humidity sensor module: If E3 persists, replace the Inventor humidity sensor module with the correct part number for your model. Mount it in the same location and reconnect the harness.
  • PCB replacement: If a new sensor does not clear the error, the main PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
