E7
Inventor Water Level Sensor / Float Switch Error

Dehumidifier displays E7 and stops operation

Possible Causes

Stuck float in water bucket, Faulty electronic water level sensor, Disconnected float switch harness, Defective main PCB water level input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the water tank or accessing internal parts.

  • Check water bucket: Remove the tank and empty it completely. Clean any slime or mineral buildup that may prevent the float from moving freely.
  • Inspect float mechanism: Many Inventor dehumidifiers use a magnetic float and reed switch or an electronic level sensor. Verify the float moves up and down smoothly. Clean the float chamber with warm soapy water and rinse.
  • Reinstall tank correctly: Make sure the tank is fully seated. Some models have a small lever or pin that must be depressed by the tank to indicate presence.
  • Check float switch wiring: If accessible, locate the float switch or water level sensor and inspect the wiring harness and connector to the PCB. Reseat the connector.
  • Replace water level sensor: If E7 persists and the float moves freely, replace the Inventor water level sensor / float switch assembly.
  • PCB fault: If a new sensor does not resolve the error, the main PCB input circuit may be faulty and require replacement.
