Safety warning: Always unplug the Klarstein unit before removing covers. Sharp metal edges around the coil can cause injury; wear cut-resistant gloves.

• Locate the evaporator sensor: Remove the front or side panel as per the user manual. The evaporator NTC is usually clipped directly to the aluminum fins or copper tubing of the evaporator coil.
• Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil. If it has fallen off, re-clip it in the original position so it senses coil temperature accurately.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor leads back to the main PCB. Look for chafed insulation, pinched wires near the fan housing, or signs of moisture damage.
• Clean and reseat connector: Disconnect the sensor plug from the PCB, blow out dust, and reconnect firmly. A loose connector can trigger E2.
• Measure resistance: With the unit unplugged, measure the NTC resistance at room temperature. Compare to the ambient sensor if they are the same type; large deviation or open/short indicates failure.
• Replace sensor: If readings are abnormal or the sensor is corroded, install a new Klarstein evaporator NTC sensor. Clip it securely to the coil and ensure good thermal contact.
• PCB diagnosis: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main control PCB’s sensor circuit is likely defective and should be replaced by a qualified technician.
