How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect the Klarstein unit from mains before opening the control panel or rear cover.
- Access control wiring: Remove the top or front panel to expose the control/display PCB. On many Klarstein units, a flat ribbon cable or multi-wire harness connects this board to the main PCB.
- Reseat connectors: Carefully unplug the ribbon/harness at both ends, inspect for bent pins or corrosion, then reconnect firmly. Ensure the cable is not twisted or pinched when reassembling.
- Inspect cable: Look for cuts, kinks, or burn marks along the cable. Replace the harness if any conductor appears damaged.
- Check for moisture: If the unit has been used in very damp conditions, look for condensation or corrosion on the display PCB. Gently clean with isopropyl alcohol and a soft brush, then allow to dry fully.
- Board replacement: If reseating and replacing the cable does not clear E6, either the display PCB or main PCB is defective. Replace one at a time, starting with the display PCB (usually cheaper), or consult a service technician.
