Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Loose fan connector, Obstruction preventing fan rotation, Fan driver circuit failure on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before opening the unit.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Look through the vents for any visible blockage. Remove foreign objects.
- Access fan: Remove the housing to expose the fan. Try spinning the blades by hand; they should move freely.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan connector is fully seated on the PCB and wires are intact.
- Test motor: If you have a suitable DC power source matching the fan voltage, briefly power the fan directly to see if it runs. If not, replace the fan motor assembly.
- Replace PCB: If the fan runs on direct power but not when connected to the board, the fan driver on the PCB is faulty and the board should be replaced.
