Possible Causes
Failing power adapter, Loose DC jack or power connector, Shorting component on main PCB, Overheating ultrasonic driver or fan motor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before inspection.
Steps:
- Check outlet and adapter: Test the humidifier on a different outlet. For external adapters, feel if the adapter becomes very hot quickly; if so, replace it with the correct Levoit‑rated adapter.
- Inspect power jack: Wiggle the DC plug gently while the unit is on (do not open the case for this test). If power cuts in and out, the jack or plug is loose and should be replaced.
- Open and inspect PCB: Look for burn marks, darkened areas, or bulging capacitors on the main board. Any such signs indicate the board should be replaced.
- Check fan and transducer: Ensure neither is seized or drawing excessive current. A locked fan or shorted transducer can cause shutdown; replace the faulty component.
