Possible Causes
Blocked fan, Failed fan motor, Loose fan connector, Faulty main control PCB fan driver
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before accessing the fan. Do not insert fingers into the fan housing.
Steps:
- Check for obstructions: Look through the grille for any foreign objects (plastic, paper, debris) blocking the fan. Remove the front cover if necessary and clear obstructions.
- Clean the fan: Dust buildup on the fan blades can overload the motor. Gently brush or vacuum the blades and surrounding housing.
- Spin test: With power still disconnected, gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or stiffness. If it is seized, the fan motor is likely faulty.
- Inspect wiring: Check the fan motor connector on the main PCB. Reseat the plug and look for burnt or discolored pins.
- Power test (advanced): With the unit reassembled and powered, listen for the fan attempting to start. If there is humming but no rotation, the motor is likely bad. Replace with a compatible Meaco fan motor assembly.
- PCB fault: If a new fan motor does not resolve E6, the main control PCB may not be supplying correct voltage and should be replaced by a technician.
