Possible Causes
Blocked condenser coil, Failed condenser fan (if separate), Overcharged or restricted refrigerant system, Faulty high‑pressure switch or sensor
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Do not attempt to open the sealed refrigeration system yourself.
Steps:
- Airflow check: Ensure the rear or side condenser grille is not blocked. Maintain adequate clearance around the unit.
- Clean condenser: Remove the rear cover (if serviceable) and gently vacuum dust from the condenser coil fins. Do not bend the fins.
- Fan operation: Confirm that the fan runs at full speed when the compressor starts. If the fan is slow or not running, troubleshoot and replace the fan motor assembly as needed.
- Ambient temperature: Avoid operating the unit in very hot, confined spaces (e.g. small cupboards) which can cause high pressure.
- Professional diagnosis: If E8 persists after cleaning and ensuring good airflow, a refrigeration technician must check the refrigerant charge, capillary tube, and high‑pressure switch/sensor. Do not bypass safety devices.
