Possible Causes
Unit operated without water, Blocked air outlet, Failed overheat sensor or thermal fuse, Main PCB misreading temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the humidifier and allow it to cool for at least 30 minutes.
Steps:
- Check water level: Ensure the tank is filled to the correct level and properly seated.
- Clear vents: Inspect the air outlet and intake for blockages. Remove dust or obstructions.
- Reset: After cooling and refilling, reconnect power and test. If F4 returns quickly, internal overheat protection may be tripping.
- Inspect overheat sensor: Open the housing and locate the overheat thermostat/thermal fuse near the heater or main board (on warm‑mist models). Check for signs of damage or discoloration.
- Replace sensor: If the thermal fuse is open or thermostat is faulty, replace with the correct Meaco-rated part.
- PCB fault: Persistent F4 with good sensors may indicate a main control PCB issue requiring professional service.
