Possible Causes

Kinked or blocked continuous drain hose, Incorrect hose routing causing backflow, Faulty pump level sensor, Main PCB misreading pump status

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before adjusting hoses.

Steps:

  • Verify drain setup: If using continuous drain, ensure the hose is connected to the correct outlet and slopes downward all the way to the drain point. Remove any loops or upward runs.
  • Clear hose: Disconnect the hose and flush it with clean water. Remove any sludge or scale buildup.
  • Test without hose: Temporarily remove the continuous drain hose and operate the unit with the standard tank only. If P2 disappears, the issue is with the hose routing or blockage.
  • Check pump level sensor (pump models): Inspect the pump float switch or level sensor for sticking or damage. Clean and ensure free movement.
  • Replace faulty parts: If the sensor is defective, replace the float switch or pump assembly. Persistent P2 with correct drainage may indicate a main control PCB fault.
