Possible Causes

Open or shorted evaporator NTC sensor, Sensor wire damaged by ice or vibration, Loose sensor connector on control board, Failed sensor input circuit on main PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier. Do not touch the refrigerant tubing with tools while powered.

  • Access sensor: Remove the front or rear cover as per the service instructions. Locate the evaporator coil (cold aluminum fins). The NTC sensor is usually clipped or taped to the coil with two thin wires leading to the PCB.
  • Check mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil and not hanging loose. Re-clip or re-tape if necessary.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for cuts, crushed insulation, or pulled wires where they pass through plastic guides. Repair or replace the harness if damaged.
  • Test sensor: With a multimeter, measure resistance at room temperature. If it reads infinite (open) or near 0 Ω (short), replace the evaporator NTC sensor with a Medisana-compatible part.
  • Reconnect and test: Reassemble, plug in, and check if E3 clears. If not, the main control PCB may be faulty and should be replaced by a professional.
