Possible Causes
Faulty current sensing circuit on main PCB, Shorted compressor winding, Loose compressor wiring connector, Defective main control PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier. High voltage and stored charge may be present on capacitors.
- Check wiring: Remove the cover and inspect the wiring to the compressor. Ensure all spade connectors are tight and not burnt.
- Look for obvious damage: Burn marks on the PCB near the compressor relay or current sensor (shunt resistor or current transformer) indicate board failure. In this case, replace the main control PCB.
- Compressor test (advanced): With the unit unplugged, measure resistance between compressor terminals if accessible. If any winding is shorted to ground or readings are far from the service manual values, the compressor is defective and requires professional replacement.
- Board replacement: If wiring and compressor test normal, replace the main control PCB with a Medisana-compatible board. This is typically a level-4–5 repair and may be best left to a technician.
