Possible Causes
Seized or obstructed fan, Failed fan motor capacitor (AC fan types), Defective DC fan motor or hall sensor, Loose fan connector on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan blades.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the grille and inspect the fan wheel for dust buildup, foreign objects, or warped plastic. Clear any obstruction.
- Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely. If it is stiff or grinding, the fan motor is likely failing and should be replaced.
- Electrical check: Inspect the fan motor connector on the PCB. Reseat it firmly. Look for burnt or discolored pins.
- Capacitor (AC fan): If your Medisana dehumidifier uses an AC fan motor with a run capacitor, locate the capacitor and check for bulging or leakage. Replace with the same µF rating and voltage if defective.
- Replace fan motor: If E8 persists and the fan does not run properly, replace the fan motor assembly with a Medisana-compatible fan motor.
