Possible Causes
Misaligned water tank not pressing tank switch, Defective tank micro-switch, Broken tank locating tabs, Damaged tank magnet (for magnetic detection types)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before adjusting mechanical parts.
- Re-seat tank: Remove and reinstall the water tank carefully, ensuring it sits fully down and engages any locking tabs.
- Inspect tank base: Check for broken plastic tabs or worn surfaces that should press the tank detection switch. Replace the tank if it cannot properly engage the switch.
- Check switch: Locate the tank presence micro-switch or magnetic sensor in the base. Press it manually (with the unit unplugged) to ensure it moves freely. If stuck, clean around it and free any debris.
- Electrical test: If you have a multimeter, test the micro-switch for continuity when pressed. Replace the tank detection switch if it does not change state.
- Persistent F2: If the switch and tank are good, the detection circuit on the main PCB may be faulty and require board replacement.
