Possible Causes

Fan motor not starting, Blocked fan blades, Defective fan speed feedback sensor, Loose fan connector on PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect from mains before working near the fan.

  • Visual inspection: Remove the cover and check the fan wheel for dust buildup or foreign objects. Clean thoroughly.
  • Spin test: Rotate the fan by hand. If it is stiff or noisy, the fan motor bearings may be worn and the motor should be replaced.
  • Connector check: Ensure the fan motor plug is fully seated on the PCB and that no wires are loose.
  • Test operation: Reassemble partially, plug in, and briefly power on to see if the fan starts. If it does not, replace the fan motor assembly with a Medisana-compatible part.
  • Feedback sensor: Some DC fans have a tachometer wire. If the fan spins but F5 still appears, the feedback signal or PCB input may be faulty, requiring fan or PCB replacement.
