Possible Causes
Evaporator coil iced over, Room temperature too low, Defrost sensor reading low temperature, Restricted airflow across coil
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting internal components.
- Allow defrost: Leave the unit off for 30–60 minutes to allow any ice on the evaporator to melt.
- Check room temperature: Ensure the room is within the operating range (typically above 5–10 °C). Move the unit to a warmer room if necessary.
- Clean filter and vents: Wash the air filter and vacuum dust from the intake and exhaust grilles to improve airflow.
- Restart: Plug the unit back in and restart. If P1 persists in normal temperatures, the defrost sensor or control board may be faulty and require replacement.
