Possible Causes
Blown internal fuse on main PCB, Faulty power cord, Failed main control board, Loose internal power connections
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening. If you are not comfortable working with mains voltage, contact a technician.
- Check outlet and breaker: Test the outlet with another appliance. Reset any tripped breakers or GFCI outlets.
- Inspect power cord: Look for cuts, burns, or kinks. Wiggle the plug gently in the outlet to see if power flickers (indicates a bad outlet or plug).
- Access internal connections: Remove the rear or side panel to access where the cord enters the unit. Ensure the cord is firmly connected to the terminal block or PCB.
- Check internal fuse: On many Midea boards, a small glass or ceramic fuse protects the circuit. Test for continuity with a multimeter. Replace with the same type and rating if blown.
- Board replacement: If the fuse is good and power is present at the board input but the unit is still dead, replace the main control board.
