Possible Causes
Clogged internal drain channel, Misaligned bucket, Cracked bucket or drain pan, Improperly installed drain hose
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Dry any spilled water to avoid slipping and electrical hazards.
- Check bucket seating: Ensure the bucket is fully inserted and level. Misalignment can cause water to miss the bucket.
- Inspect bucket and pan: Remove the bucket and inspect for cracks. Shine a light into the internal drain pan to look for standing water or cracks.
- Clean drain channel: Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear the drain hole and channel leading from the evaporator tray to the bucket or hose connection.
- Verify drain hose installation: If using a continuous drain, ensure the hose is firmly attached, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked.
- Replace damaged parts: Replace a cracked "Midea water bucket" or "drain pan" as needed.
