• Replace start device if faulty: Order a "Midea compressor start relay and overload" kit for your model. Install on the compressor terminals exactly as the original, ensuring tight fit.
• Check wiring and board: Inspect wires from the board to the compressor for burns or loose connections. If wiring and start device are good but E5 persists, the compressor itself or the main PCB may be defective.
• Technician recommended: Diagnosing a locked compressor or replacing it requires specialized tools and refrigerant handling certification. Contact a professional if E5 remains after start device replacement.
