Possible Causes
Water bucket full, Misaligned bucket not engaging switch, Faulty bucket full float or micro switch, Debris preventing float from moving freely
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the bucket to avoid spills on live components.
- Empty the bucket: Carefully pull out the water bucket and empty it completely. Rinse to remove any sludge or mold.
- Check float mechanism: Inside the bucket, locate the float assembly that rises with water level. Ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by mineral deposits or debris. Clean as needed.
- Inspect bucket full switch: On the unit body, find the bucket full micro switch or magnetic reed switch that the bucket or float actuates. Ensure it is not bent or obstructed.
- Reinstall bucket correctly: Slide the bucket fully into place until it clicks or sits flush. Many Midea units will continue to show P2 if the bucket is not seated properly.
- Test: Plug in and power on. If P2 remains with an empty, correctly seated bucket, the float or switch may be faulty.
- Replace bucket float or switch: Order a "Midea dehumidifier bucket float" or "bucket full switch" for your model. Replace the defective component following the original mounting and wiring.
