Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, failed memory IC on main PCB, power surge damage, incorrect PCB for model installed
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before accessing electronics.
Steps:
- Power reset: Unplug for at least 10 minutes to allow capacitors to discharge, then reconnect. If E9 returns immediately, the fault is likely permanent.
- Check model compatibility: If the main PCB was recently replaced, verify that the board part number matches the exact Mitsubishi Electric model of the dehumidifier.
- Inspect PCB: Remove covers to access the main PCB. Look for burn marks or damaged components near the memory IC.
- Repair: In most cases, the only reliable fix is to replace the main control PCB with a new, pre‑programmed board from Mitsubishi Electric.
Note: Re‑programming EEPROM in the field is generally not supported for consumer units.
