Possible Causes
Stuck float in water tank, failed reed switch or float switch, misaligned tank not engaging switch, damaged level sensor wiring
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Turn off and unplug the unit before removing the water tank.
Steps:
- Remove and empty tank: Pull out the water tank, empty it completely, and rinse to remove slime or scale.
- Check float: Inside the tank or tank cavity, locate the plastic float. Ensure it moves freely up and down. Clean any mold or mineral buildup that may cause sticking.
- Inspect switch: Many Mitsubishi Electric units use a magnetic reed switch in the body and a magnet in the float. Ensure the float magnet is intact and correctly oriented.
- Reinstall tank: Slide the tank fully into place until it clicks. If the tank is not seated, the level switch will indicate “full” and trigger F2.
- Electrical check (for technicians): Test continuity of the float/reed switch while moving the float. Replace the water level switch assembly if it does not change state.
