Mold in water tank, biofilm in drain tray, dirty air filter, contaminated humidifier filter (on hybrid units)
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Avoid inhaling dust or mold; consider wearing a mask and gloves.
Steps:
- Clean tank: Remove the water tank and wash with warm water and mild detergent. Disinfect with a diluted bleach solution (rinse thoroughly afterward).
- Clean tray: Access the evaporator drain tray and wipe away slime and deposits. Use a mild disinfectant safe for plastics.
- Filter: Wash or replace the air filter. On hybrid units, replace the humidifier evaporative filter if it smells or is discolored.
- Drying run: After cleaning, run the unit in fan‑only mode (if available) for 30–60 minutes to dry internal surfaces.
