Possible Causes
Cracked water tank, misaligned tank, blocked internal drain channel, loose continuous drain hose connection, overflowing humidifier tray
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. Water near electrical parts can be hazardous.
Steps:
- Inspect tank: Remove the water tank and check for cracks or damaged seals. Replace the water tank if cracked.
- Check seating: Ensure the tank is fully inserted and level. Misalignment can cause internal spills.
- Clean drain channel: With the tank removed, locate the drain outlet from the evaporator tray. Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear slime and debris.
- Continuous drain: If using a hose, confirm it is firmly attached to the drain port and slopes downward with no kinks. Tighten any hose clamps.
- Humidifier section: On hybrid units, inspect the humidifier tray for overflow and clean its drain path.
