Steps:

• Seal the room: Close windows and doors while operating the dehumidifier. Reduce other moisture sources (e.g., boiling water, drying clothes indoors).
• Check capacity: Compare the unit's rated liters/day to the room size and humidity load. A small unit may not be able to handle a large basement.
• Inspect for leaks: Look for water intrusion, damp walls, or plumbing leaks that continuously add moisture.
• Sensor check: If the display shows much lower humidity than an external hygrometer, replace the humidity sensor assembly.
