Safety: Disconnect the appliance from power before removing covers. Avoid touching sharp metal edges around the coil.

Diagnostic and repair steps:

• Access the evaporator: Remove the front or rear housing to expose the evaporator coil (cold coil). The evaporator NTC sensor is usually clipped or taped directly to the coil tubing.
• Check sensor placement: Ensure the sensor bulb is firmly attached to the coil surface. If it has fallen off, reattach it using aluminum tape or the original clip so it makes good thermal contact.
• Inspect wiring: Follow the two-wire harness from the sensor back to the main PCB. Look for cuts, crushed sections, or loose connectors. Reseat the connector on the board.
• Measure resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to the ambient sensor if they are the same type; values should be similar at the same temperature. A reading of 0 Ω or infinite indicates a failed sensor.
• Replace sensor: If the sensor is open/shorted or physically damaged, replace it with an Olimpia Splendid-compatible evaporator NTC sensor.
• Board evaluation: If a new sensor does not clear E2, the main control board may not be reading the sensor correctly. Replacement of the PCB is required; this is typically a technician-level repair.
