Possible Causes

Stuck or misaligned float in water tank, Faulty float switch or reed sensor, Broken float magnet, Damaged wiring from float switch to PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit before removing the water tank or accessing internal components.

Steps:

  • Check the water tank: Remove the tank, empty it, and clean any slime or mineral buildup. Inspect the float mechanism inside the tank or in the float chamber.
  • Verify float movement: Move the float up and down by hand. It should move freely and return to its rest position. Clean any debris that may be jamming it.
  • Inspect the float magnet and switch: Many Olimpia Splendid units use a magnetic float and reed switch. Ensure the magnet is still attached to the float and not cracked. Check that the reed switch housing (usually near the float path) is not broken.
  • Check wiring: Follow the float switch wires to the main PCB. Look for loose connectors or damaged insulation. Reseat the connector.
  • Test the switch (advanced): With the unit unplugged, disconnect the float switch and test continuity with a multimeter while moving the float. The switch should open and close reliably. If not, replace the float switch assembly.
  • Reassemble and test: Reinstall the tank fully and ensure it seats correctly against the tank switch. Plug in and power on to see if E5 clears.
