Possible Causes

Blocked fan wheel, Failed fan motor, Faulty fan capacitor (on AC motors), Broken fan speed feedback signal to PCB

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the unit. Beware of sharp metal edges and moving parts.

Steps:

  • Check for obstructions: Remove the front or rear grille and visually inspect the fan wheel (blower). Remove any plastic, dust clumps, or foreign objects that may be jamming it.
  • Spin test: Gently spin the fan by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it is stiff or seized, the motor bearings may be failing.
  • Inspect wiring: Follow the fan motor wires to the main PCB. Ensure the connector is firmly seated and wires are not damaged.
  • Capacitor check (if equipped): Some Olimpia Splendid dehumidifiers use a start/run capacitor for the fan. A bulging or leaking capacitor should be replaced with the same µF rating and voltage.
  • Motor replacement: If the motor hums but does not start, or if it is seized, replace the fan motor assembly with a compatible Olimpia Splendid part.
  • Test after reassembly: Reassemble all covers, plug in, and test. If E7 persists with a new motor and capacitor, the main PCB may not be driving or reading the fan correctly and may need replacement.
