Possible Causes
Evaporator coil temperature below threshold, Restricted airflow causing icing, Dirty air filter, Very low ambient temperature
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Note: On many Olimpia Splendid units, P1 is a status code, not a fault. It indicates automatic defrost.
Steps:
- Allow defrost cycle: Leave the unit powered on. The compressor will stop while the fan runs to melt ice. Once the coil warms, P1 should clear automatically.
- Clean filter and coil: Turn off and unplug the unit. Remove and wash the air filter. Vacuum dust from the evaporator and condenser coils.
- Check room conditions: Ensure the room temperature is within the operating range. If the space is very cold, move the unit to a warmer area.
- Check placement: Keep adequate clearance around the unit so air can circulate freely.
- If P1 never clears: Inspect the evaporator sensor for correct placement and function as in E2/E8. A faulty sensor can cause the unit to stay in defrost.
