Possible Causes
Cracked water tank, Misaligned tank not sealing against chassis, Blocked internal drain hose or spout, Loose continuous drain hose connection
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit and mop up any spilled water to prevent slipping.
Steps:
- Inspect tank: Remove the water tank and check for cracks or damage. Fill it at a sink and watch for leaks. Replace the tank if it leaks.
- Check tank seating: Ensure the tank slides fully into place and presses the tank switch. Misalignment can cause water to bypass the tank.
- Clean internal drain: With the tank removed, locate the drain outlet from the evaporator tray. Use a flexible brush or pipe cleaner to clear any slime or debris.
- Continuous drain setup: If using a hose, ensure it is firmly attached to the drain port, slopes downward continuously, and is not kinked. Seal the connection with a clamp if needed.
- Test: Reassemble and run the unit while monitoring for leaks.
