How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit. High voltage and stored energy in capacitors can be dangerous.
Steps:
- Check operating mode: Ensure the humidity setpoint is below current room humidity and that the unit is not in fan-only mode.
- Listen for compressor: After turning on, listen for a low humming sound. No sound may indicate no power to compressor.
- Access compressor area: Remove rear/side panel to expose compressor, PTC/relay, and capacitor.
- Inspect start components: Look for burnt or cracked PTC, bulged capacitor, or loose wires.
- Replace suspect parts: If the capacitor is swollen or tests out of spec, or the PTC is cracked, replace with Orbegozo-specified components.
- PCB diagnosis: If start components are good and compressor windings test OK, the main PCB may not be energizing the compressor relay and may need replacement.
