Dehumidifier will not start and displays E1 on the control panel
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.
If you are not confident in your ability to perform this repair safely, we strongly recommend contacting a professional technician.

How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the Orbegozo dehumidifier from the mains before removing any covers. Do not work on the unit while it is connected to power.
Step-by-step checks:
- Power-cycle the unit: Unplug for 5–10 minutes, then plug back in and try again. Sometimes E1 is a transient sensor read error.
- Access the control area: Remove the front or top cover (varies by model such as Orbegozo DH series). Keep screws organized.
- Locate the ambient NTC sensor: It is usually a small probe or bead-type sensor near the air inlet grille, connected by two thin wires to the main PCB.
- Inspect wiring and connector: Look for broken wires, pinched cable, or corrosion at the plug on the main board. Reseat the connector firmly.
- Check sensor resistance (if you have a multimeter): At room temperature (~20–25°C), most NTC sensors should read between 5 kΩ and 20 kΩ (exact value depends on model). An open circuit (OL) or 0 Ω indicates a failed sensor.
- Clean dust and oxidation: Use a soft brush and contact cleaner on the connector if it looks dirty or oxidized. Allow to dry fully before reassembly.
- Replace the sensor if faulty: If resistance is out of range or intermittent when you gently move the wires, replace the ambient NTC sensor with an Orbegozo-compatible part for your exact model.
- Consider main PCB failure: If a known-good sensor still gives E1, the sensor input on the main control board may be defective and the PCB will need replacement.
When to stop: If you are not comfortable using a multimeter or removing covers, contact an authorized Orbegozo service technician.
