Possible Causes
Defective defrost sensor, Ice buildup on evaporator, Blocked airflow, Faulty defrost control on PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit.
- Defrost coil: Remove covers and allow all ice on the evaporator to melt completely. Dry the area.
- Clean filter and coils: Wash the air filter and gently clean dust from the evaporator and condenser coils.
- Check fan operation: Ensure the fan runs at full speed; a weak fan can cause icing.
- Test defrost sensor: Inspect and test the defrost thermistor as described for H24. Replace if faulty.
- PCB issue: If icing and sensor issues are resolved but E3 persists, the defrost control on the main PCB may be defective.
