Possible Causes
Blocked fan wheel, Failed indoor fan motor, Faulty fan motor hall sensor, Loose fan motor connector on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the unit before opening the cabinet. Sharp metal edges may be present.
- Check for obstructions: Remove the front and side covers to access the blower wheel. Clear any dust buildup, plastic bags, filter media, or foreign objects preventing rotation.
- Spin test: Gently spin the blower wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding. If it is stiff or seized, the fan motor bearings may have failed and the motor should be replaced.
- Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor connector on the main control PCB. Reseat the connector and check for burnt pins or damaged insulation.
- Power‑on test (caution): With covers in place and hands clear, plug in and start the unit. Listen for the fan attempting to start. A humming sound with no rotation indicates a failed motor.
- Replace fan motor if needed: Remove the blower housing, disconnect the motor leads, and install a Panasonic‑compatible indoor fan motor assembly. Reassemble and test.
