Possible Causes

Open or shorted room temperature thermistor, Disconnected thermistor plug, Damaged thermistor wiring harness, Faulty main control PCB thermistor input

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety first: Disconnect power before accessing internal components.

  • Locate the thermistor: On Panasonic dehumidifiers, the room temperature sensor is usually clipped near the air intake grille or on the evaporator coil frame, connected by two small wires to the main PCB.
  • Check connection: Ensure the thermistor plug is fully seated on the main PCB. Reseat it to clear poor contact.
  • Inspect wiring: Look for cuts, crushed insulation, or corrosion along the thermistor leads. Repair or replace damaged wiring.
  • Measure resistance: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the thermistor and measure its resistance at room temperature (around 20–25°C). Compare to Panasonic specifications (commonly 5–15 kΩ at 25°C). A reading of near 0 Ω (short) or infinite (open) indicates a bad sensor.
  • Replace thermistor: If out of spec, install a Panasonic‑specified indoor thermistor, routing the leads away from sharp edges and hot components. Clear the code by unplugging for several minutes and retesting.
