Possible Causes
Open or shorted evaporator thermistor, Thermistor dislodged from coil, Damaged thermistor wiring, Faulty main PCB sensor circuit
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier.
- Locate evaporator sensor: Remove the front cover and filter. The sensor is usually clipped to the evaporator coil tubing or fins.
- Check attachment and position: Ensure the sensor is firmly clipped to the coil and not hanging in free air. Reclip if necessary.
- Inspect wiring: Follow the sensor leads back to the PCB, checking for nicks or pulled wires. Reseat the connector.
- Measure resistance: Disconnect the sensor and measure resistance at room temperature. Compare to Panasonic’s spec. Replace if open, shorted, or far off expected value.
- Board diagnosis: If a known‑good sensor still results in H23, the main PCB is likely defective and should be replaced by a technician.
