Philips dehumidifier shows E2 and stops; fan may still run but compressor does not start.
Safety Warning
This repair may involve working with high voltage components or water connections. Always unplug the appliance before removing any panels.

Possible Causes
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Disconnect power before removing covers. Sharp metal edges around the coil can cut; wear gloves.
- Access the evaporator: Remove the rear or side panel (depending on model) to expose the evaporator coil (cold coil).
- Locate the sensor: Find the small NTC sensor clipped or taped to the evaporator tubing or fins. Ensure it is firmly attached and not hanging loose.
- Check wiring: Follow the sensor wires back to the control board. Look for chafing, cuts, or pulled connectors. Re-seat the connector on the PCB.
- Test the sensor: With the unit unplugged, disconnect the sensor and measure resistance. Compare to expected NTC values. If open/shorted, replace the sensor.
- Reattach properly: If the sensor has come loose from the coil, reattach it firmly using the original clip or thermal tape so it can accurately sense coil temperature.
If E2 remains after sensor replacement, the main PCB may be misreading the sensor and should be evaluated or replaced by a service technician.
