Possible Causes
Dirty or scaled water level electrodes, Misaligned float in tank, Faulty reed switch or Hall sensor for tank detection, Damaged water level sensor PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the humidifier before cleaning. Do not immerse the base in water.
- Clean tank and base: Remove the water tank and empty it. Wipe the tank and base contacts with a soft cloth. If there is limescale, soak affected parts (not the electronics) in a mixture of white vinegar and water, then rinse and dry.
- Check float: If your Philips humidifier uses a float inside the tank, ensure it moves freely and is not stuck by scale or debris.
- Inspect sensors: For electrode-type sensors, gently clean the metal pins with a cotton swab and vinegar to remove mineral buildup.
- Reassemble carefully: Reinstall the tank, ensuring it is fully seated and aligned with the base.
If F0 persists after thorough descaling and cleaning, the water level sensor or associated PCB may be faulty and require replacement by a service center.
