Possible Causes

Failed onboard humidity sensor, Sensor contaminated by dust or aerosols, Loose sensor connector to control PCB, Faulty sensor circuit on main board

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Disconnect power before opening the housing.

  • Locate sensor: On Philips humidifiers, the humidity sensor is often near the air outlet or on a small daughterboard with vent holes.
  • Clean gently: Use a soft brush or compressed air to remove dust. Avoid spraying liquids directly on the sensor.
  • Check connection: Ensure the sensor board is firmly plugged into the main PCB.

If F1 remains, the humidity sensor module or main PCB may need replacement. Because these are low-voltage parts, a skilled DIYer can replace them, but follow the service manual if available.
