Possible Causes
Low or lost refrigerant charge, Severely dirty evaporator or condenser coils, Faulty compressor, Evaporator fan not moving enough air
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug before cleaning or accessing internal components.
Steps to improve dehumidification:
- Check operating conditions: Ensure room temperature and humidity are within the unit’s effective range. Very low humidity or low temperature reduces water collection.
- Clean filter and coils: Wash the air filter. Remove panels and gently clean dust from the evaporator and condenser coils with a soft brush and vacuum.
- Verify fan operation: Confirm the fan runs at normal speed and airflow is strong at the exhaust. If weak, inspect and replace the fan motor assembly if needed.
- Check for frost or uneven cooling: After running 10–15 minutes, inspect the evaporator coil. If only a small section gets cold or frosts, or if there is oil residue on tubing, the unit may have a refrigerant leak.
- Professional service: Refrigerant issues and compressor failures require a certified technician. If cleaning and fan checks do not restore performance, contact Pro Breeze support or a refrigeration professional.
