• Clean intake and exhaust: Remove and clean the air filter. Vacuum dust from the intake and exhaust grilles.
• Access compressor compartment: Remove the rear or side panel to view the compressor area. Look for signs of overheating (discolored wiring, melted insulation).
• Inspect compressor wiring: Check the compressor start relay and overload protector mounted on the compressor terminals. Ensure connectors are tight and not burnt.
• Replace suspect components: If the relay or overload shows signs of burning or rattles when shaken, replace with a compatible Pro Breeze compressor start relay and overload protector kit.
• If E5 persists: The compressor itself or the main control PCB may be faulty. These repairs are advanced and often not economical for small dehumidifiers; consult a professional or Pro Breeze support.
