Possible Causes
Failed fan motor, Obstructed fan blades, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty fan driver circuit on main PCB
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before working near the fan. Fan blades can be sharp.
Steps to resolve E6:
- Visual check: Look through the grille to see if anything is blocking the fan (plastic, packing material, debris). Remove any obstruction with the unit unplugged.
- Spin test: With power disconnected, gently spin the fan blade by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or binding. If it is stiff, the fan motor may be failing.
- Access the fan assembly: Remove the rear or side panel to expose the fan motor and blower wheel.
- Inspect wiring: Ensure the fan motor harness is firmly connected to the main PCB and that no wires are cut or pinched.
- Check for play or wobble: If the fan blade or blower wheel is loose on the motor shaft, tighten the set screw or replace the wheel if cracked.
- Replace the fan motor if needed: If the motor hums but does not start, or is seized, replace it with a compatible Pro Breeze fan motor assembly. Transfer the fan blade or blower wheel to the new motor and secure it properly.
- If E6 remains after motor replacement: The main control PCB may not be providing correct power or reading fan feedback. PCB replacement may be required.
