Possible Causes
Corrupted EEPROM data, Power surge damage to control PCB, Manufacturing firmware defect, Loose low-voltage harness to control board
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the unit before opening the control housing.
Steps to troubleshoot E9:
- Extended power reset: Unplug the dehumidifier for at least 30 minutes to allow internal capacitors to discharge and memory to reset. Plug back in and test.
- Check power quality: Plug the unit directly into a wall outlet (no extension cords or power strips). Avoid outlets with known power issues.
- Inspect control board connections: Remove the control panel and verify that all low-voltage harnesses to the main control PCB are secure.
- Look for surge damage: Inspect the PCB for burnt components or discoloration. If present, the board must be replaced.
- Board replacement: If E9 persists after resets and connections are verified, replace the main control PCB with the correct Pro Breeze part. Transfer any wiring harnesses one by one to avoid misconnection.
- Surge protection: After repair, consider using a surge protector to reduce the risk of future EEPROM corruption from power spikes.
