Possible Causes
Failed ambient temperature sensor (NTC thermistor), Loose or corroded sensor connector on control board, Damaged sensor wiring harness, Faulty main control PCB reading sensor out of range
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety first: Unplug the dehumidifier before opening any panels. Do not work on the unit while it is connected to power.
- Power reset: Unplug the unit for 10 minutes, then plug it back in and try again. Sometimes E1 is a temporary sensor read error.
- Check placement: Ensure the unit is not placed in direct sunlight, near a heater, or in a confined hot space that could cause extreme temperature readings.
- Inspect sensor connection: Remove the front or rear housing (per user manual). Locate the small probe sensor (NTC) clipped near the air intake or evaporator coil and follow its wires to the control board. Make sure the connector is fully seated and not corroded or damaged.
- Check sensor condition: If the sensor tip is broken, corroded, or the wire insulation is cut, it should be replaced. Pure Enrichment typically uses a small NTC thermistor assembly with a 2‑pin plug.
- Replace sensor: Order a compatible Pure Enrichment ambient temperature sensor/NTC for your exact model. Unplug the old sensor from the board, unclip it from its bracket, install the new one in the same location, and reconnect the plug firmly.
- If E1 persists: The main control PCB may be misreading the sensor. At this point, replacement of the control board or professional diagnosis is recommended.
