Possible Causes
Failed evaporator coil sensor (coil NTC), Sensor dislodged from evaporator fins, Broken or pinched sensor wiring, Faulty main control PCB sensor input
How to Fix / Troubleshooting
Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier before removing covers. Avoid bending or puncturing the refrigerant coils.
- Reset the unit: Disconnect power for 10–15 minutes, then reconnect and test. If E2 returns immediately, continue.
- Access the evaporator: Remove the front or rear housing to expose the evaporator coil (cold aluminum fins behind the air filter). Locate the small sensor clipped or taped to the coil with two wires going to the control board.
- Check sensor mounting: Ensure the sensor is firmly attached to the coil surface or inserted between fins as originally installed. A loose sensor can read incorrectly and trigger E2.
- Inspect wiring and connector: Look for cuts, pinches, or corrosion on the sensor wires and connector. Reseat the connector on the control board.
- Replace sensor if damaged: Order a Pure Enrichment evaporator temperature sensor/NTC for your model. Remove the old sensor, install the new one in the same position on the coil, and plug it into the board.
- If E2 remains: The control board’s sensor circuit may be defective. Consider replacing the main control PCB or contacting a service technician.
