Pure Enrichment dehumidifier shows E4 and stops; unit may beep and refuse to start.

Safety: Unplug the unit before inspecting internal components. Do not attempt to cut or open refrigerant lines.

• Check room conditions: Ensure the room temperature is above the minimum operating temperature listed in the manual (typically above 41–50°F / 5–10°C). Operating in very cold rooms can trigger E4.
• Inspect airflow: Remove and clean the air filter. Make sure the intake and exhaust grilles are not blocked and the unit is at least several inches away from walls or furniture.
• Defrost the coil: Unplug the dehumidifier and let it sit for 2–3 hours with panels open so any ice on the evaporator coil can melt. Place towels under the unit to catch drips.
• Check evaporator sensor: If accessible, verify the evaporator temperature sensor is firmly attached to the coil and its wiring is intact. A loose sensor can misread and cause E4.
• Restart: After defrosting and reassembling, plug the unit back in and test. If E4 returns quickly and the coil ices up again, there may be a refrigerant or compressor issue.
• Advanced issues: Low refrigerant or a failing compressor requires sealed-system service by a licensed technician. Do not attempt to recharge refrigerant yourself.
