Possible Causes

Blocked fan wheel, Failed fan motor, Loose fan motor connector, Faulty control board fan driver circuit

How to Fix / Troubleshooting

Safety: Unplug the dehumidifier before removing covers. Keep fingers clear of the fan blades.

  • Check for obstructions: Look through the grille to see if any debris, filter material, or foreign objects are blocking the fan. Remove the front or rear cover if needed and clear any obstruction.
  • Spin test: With the unit unplugged, gently spin the fan wheel by hand. It should rotate freely without grinding or binding. If it is stiff, the motor bearings may be failing.
  • Inspect wiring: Locate the fan motor and follow its wires to the control board. Ensure the connector is fully seated and wires are not damaged.
  • Test operation: Reassemble, plug in, and start the unit. If the fan does not start and E6 appears, the fan motor is likely defective.
  • Replace fan motor: Order a Pure Enrichment–compatible fan motor assembly for your model. Unplug the unit, remove the housing, disconnect the motor wiring, unbolt the motor and fan bracket, transfer the fan wheel if needed, and install the new motor. Reconnect wiring and reassemble.
  • If E6 persists with a new motor: The main control PCB may not be powering the fan correctly and may need replacement.
